• Tear of Odin: Our path leads us to the elusive Tear of Odin, a hidden jewel nestled within the highland terrain. This icy lake, boasting unparalleled clarity with visibility reaching 200 meters, beckons us to explore its depths. As we embark on a session of highland snorkeling, the silence of the lake envelops us, revealing a world unseen beneath the surface. Only a handful of people have ever seen to this icy lake, let alone swam in it. We will don our 14mm wetsuits and go for a swim of a lifetime!
• Mælifell: Our journey continues towards Mælifell, an iconic mountain that stands as a testament to nature’s grandeur. Its conical shape rises from the earth, adorned with a lush carpet of moss that blankets its slopes. As we behold Mælifell in all its splendor, we are reminded of the timeless beauty that defines Iceland’s landscape.

• Strútur Hut: Leaving behind the cozy vibes of Strútur hut, we’re geared up for whatever comes our way. Memories of our stay linger as we hit the road, eager for new adventures.
• Katla ice cave: Our next stop is the incredible Katla ice cave, a summer paradise of glistening ice formations. Stepping inside, we’re greeted by a world of pure magic sculpted by Mother Nature herself. The chill in the air is refreshing, making us feel alive in the heart of the cave.
• Thakgil campsite: As the day winds down, we find ourselves at Thakgil campsite, surrounded by Iceland’s rugged beauty. Under the open sky, we gather around the campfire, sharing stories and laughter as the stars twinkle above.

Highlands Hut

• Hiking to Huldujökull: Strap on those boots because we’ve got a two-hour hike to Huldujökull ahead of us. It’s not just about the hike; it’s about soaking in those breathtaking views and witnessing one of Iceland’s biggest ice falls. Trekking through the rugged terrain, we’re pumped to get up close and personal with nature’s grandeur. As we stand in awe of the massive ice falls, we’re reminded of how wild and beautiful Iceland truly is.
• Journey back: With memories of our epic adventures, it’s time to bid farewell to the wilderness and hit the road back to Reykjavik. The drive is our chance to soak in Iceland’s stunning scenery one last time. As we roll along, we reminisce about the good times and epic sights we’ve seen on our journey.
